Supercharger - Cisco, TX

Anyone live near this location? Would love to know when construction starts.

Status on Cisco, TX Supercharger.

Nothing...nada...zip.

I guess it must still be in permitting because there is no construction at the site at all. After circling the main building I did find an existing 500KVA transformer on the north-west side. Undoubtedly the power source for the building and all the amenities. But near that transformer (on the "truck" parking side) there is a row of parking on the north side of the truck stop along the I-20 access road that would be ideal for a row of SuperChargers. There is plenty of room for the charger cabinets and another transformer and being so close to the building transformer there has to be buried power at that spot they could tap.

I went inside and asked the employees behind the counter if they knew about a Tesla Supercharger and when it might be installed. The reply I got was, "You mean that electric car thing?" so I don't think they will be a reliable source of information in the future.

The Flying J Truck Stop itself is very nice. It has a large clean convenience store with an attached Denny's and room in the back for around 50 parked semi trucks. There's also another large truck stop on the north side of I-20 at that same exit if you want to walk it. I didn't go over there though because of the rain.

Because of the fact that there is not even broken ground I probably won't go back for 2-3 weeks unless someone hears that construction has begun.

What I want to know is why isn't Bucee's getitng on the supercharger bandwagon? Do they think people need 100 pumps of gas forever?!?

Drove by there on Sunday. There is no sign of construction.

Just pulled out of Flying Js and it looks like construction is beginning. They've got the area to the north of the building blocked off for construction.

I asked insiders they confirmed it is for the Tesla charger.

I've stopped hitting Buc-ee's on road trips. Sure they're nice, but they generate so much traffic now that it's become a major hassle to get on/off the interstate.

I still stop at local locations, I live where the X is on this map, which are quite nice. I also drive by the Buc-ee's headquarters on FM 2004, as seen on their homepage, whenever I visit my folks down in Lake Jackson.

Can't wait to see pictures of the progress. I wonder if they will use the same crew to build the Sweetwater location?

I hope so! I'd love to see that crew just keep working West!!

Sorry about that. My Mondays have just not panned out to go have a look at the site.
May 23rd - Just got back from Nebraska...could see white lines when I closed my eyes.
May 30th - Wife was off today so we did stuff...like married people.
June 6th - I'll be out of town again.
June 13th - I promised to go out there and have a look.

I'm not sure much progress will have been made up to today because we've had no real construction time when it hasn't been raining, but I'll make time to go out there and report back here on progress.

I stopped through Cisco last Friday and I can confirm the site is under construction. I spoke with someone inside and they think the construction will be done in about two weeks. The spot is on the North side of the Flying J's truck stop and looks like it will be 8 stalls.

It's a good location with easy on/off of I20 and the new truck stop is nice and clean.

Today was concrete day!

It is 8 stalls, 7 back in and one nose in for you Model X'ers with hitches. The pad for the transformer is already done and they were pouring the pad for the switches and the chargers. Also the pedistals were ready for concrete.

They're pouring for the charger pad but you can see the pedestals are ready for concrete also. There are seven lined up so the eighth one is on the far end of the parking lot beyond orange vest guy.
